New Provincial Collective

Good news everybody. The texts of our collective agreement have been finalized. It has just been announced at the CF. We expect to sign the collective agreement the week of November 15th.

This means that 30 days after the signing of the agreement members will receive their first premium of $600. The retroactivity and the second premium will be received in mid-January.

This means that local negotiations between RTU and RSB will begin in the new calendar year.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back! RTU hopes you had a lovely summer. The RTU staff is back and looking forward to helping you this school year.

Some points to remember:

The Inter-sectorial section of the collective has not been agreed upon. This section concerns pensions and salary adjustments for public sector workers in health and education. So stay tuned for updates and a notice to vote on this section of our work agreements.

Workloads and teaching assignments are not finalized until the end of October. RTU is working on a document and website section to help you assess your workload. We’ll be providing information for delegate’s to help with this.

Our Delegate’s Workshop is coming up near the end of September! Make sure to contact the office if you are a delegate or alternate and plan to attend.

Our New Teachers’ Dinner will be held at the beginning of October.
