- Vertical DividerValue-added renumeration is for time spent with students outside the daily span of a teacher's workload.
The activities have to be opt-in for the students.
The only time eligible for renumeration is time with students. Planning the activities is not eligible for renumeration.
The activities must be pre-approved by teacher council.
Teachers are resonsible for keeping logs of the activities.
You can't claim credits for a day you were absent. - In September, you need to decide the structure of your activity considering 3 criteria:
- Attendance
- Frequency
- Duration during school year
Attendance :- Does the student need to attend consistently to remain a participant?
- Are other students affected by someone's absence? (Is there a "league"?)
- Are external stake holders affected by a students' absence? (Is there a show or sports meet with parents or students from other schools?
2. Frequency- Does the activity take place once a week or more often?
3. Duration during school year- Does the activity run essentially for the full year?
- Does the activity run for a discrete part of the school year?
Projects with Multiple teachers have their own set calculations impacted by the above criteria.Vertical Divider
Calculating Personal Credits (April/May)
- All Activities must have been approved by the teacher council prior to the activity occurring.
Around March/April teachers will receive the “value-added” application form. Teachers need to complete the form with the activity and credits associated with it. The form must be submitted by the deadline, usually in late April or Early May.After the value of each credit is determined, the amount payable to each teacher is calculated and added to the teachers’ paychecks. It is paid out on one of the last paychecks in June/July. It is taxable. It does not contribute to pension calculations.
